Hello and Happy Full Moon in Scorpio! 🌕♏🦂

Astrologically speaking, April has been a big deal: Mercury retrograde, total solar eclipse, Uranus-Jupiter conjunction, and a powerful full moon in sign of death and regeneration, Scorpio (to name a few).

If you’ve been feeling the intensity of these energies, you’re not alone. The planets are letting us know we are ushering a time of big change, both personally and collectively.

There is both devastating loss and incredible revitalization coming through, as well as encouragement and support to take some risks that we may not feel ready for. You might also just feel freaking exhausted right now.

Whatever your experience may be, I recommend the following to effectively work with these energies:

1)      Listen to your body. If you’re tired, take a nap. If you feel sluggish, do a light movement practice or go for a walk.

2)      Spend time in nature as much as possible, feeling your feet or other body part firmly planted on the ground. Let nature hold you.

3)      And above all, trust that whatever changes are coming your way, even if they feels like they are coming too quickly or are making you uncomfortable, they are just what you need to become more whole, and more of who you truly are.

4)      If/When you are feeling discomfort around these changes or challenges, work with your breath to calm your physiology, and chant positive mantras (such as, “All is happening for my highest good and the highest good of all” to calm the thinking mind)

5)      Make some calming moonwater!

As we continue our exploration of the Moon tarot card, for this week’s full moon ritual, we’re going to talk about embracing, maybe even consuming, the powerful and healing energy of the full moon with moonwater.

In this ritual, I’ll share how I make my moonwater and offer several ideas for what you can do with that moonwater to bring its magic into your life and home. I’m also including a specific way to work with moonwater for the Scorpio full moon which officially occurs on Tuesday, April 23 at 4:48pm PT!

Why You Want to Make Moonwater

Circo Tarot

The practice of making moonwater dates back at least 5,000 years ago (but knowing that our ancestors were much more connected to the natural world, my guess is that this practice has been happening for tens of thousands of years earlier than that).

While the first practice of making moonwater wasn’t exactly “recorded” in a book somewhere, Ayurveda, the 5,000+ year old holistic healing system from India, recommends making moonwater to treat conditions of imbalanced pitta dosha (such as inflammation, too much heat in the body, skin rashes, diarrhea, etc.).

In addition to these healing benefits, we know the moon has a powerful effect on water as it creates the ocean tides (which is why most Moon tarot card representations show a body of water).

So moonwater can also be used in manifestation or creative practices, ritual work, gardening, cleansing, and more.

I’ll share 7+ ways to work with moonwater below, as well as a specific way to work with if for the Scorpio full moon on Tuesday.
